Lost Chapters

Day 85,

As it is getting cold, I am getting warm. What was so hard before is not the same, nevertheless, life for an exchange student is not so simple. But when was life ever simple?

Many definitions are being explained. The simplest is "time flies". It is really hard to believe that I have been in Germany for almost three months. In addition, I am almost seventeen.
I am in love with the way of teaching and events in school. It is definitely different from ours. Actually better. Egypt is a gender oriented society. People differentiate between men and women in relatively simple actions. Biking for an example. A woman can drive a car but not ride a bike. It is not forbidden but would be so inappropriate. Even before I came here I knew how different it would be. However, I can't help but compare. As a result, I feel bad for what's in Egypt. The continues deteriorating in the educational system, poverty, ignorance and mostly sexism. Although, there are many open-minded people/systems in Egypt, home.

My German friendship status is getting to a higher level. Germans seem to be cold and not welcoming but they may turn out to be very nice and loving persons. You just have to start. And I learned that the hard way.
