Hi There!
Today I am going to tell you about my journey that started since I got accepted as an exchange student from Egypt to Germany.
Last school year I applied for a scholarship to Germany with Youth For Understanding (YFU) Germany http://www.yfu.de/ and Goethe Institute http://www.goethe.de/enindex.htm and PASCH Schulen as partner organizations. Youth Exchange programs are mainly to promote peace and understanding among countries. It allows young people to expand their horizons, see new things, change stereotypes, gain experiences, have fun and spend some time away from home.
In my case it will be a school year in Germany. I will be living with a German family, attending a secondary school (Gymnasium) and having an everyday typical German life for a year.
We're two students from Egypt going with YFU. We already had an orientation seminar. We went through all the preparations as the interview, essays and letters. And about two weeks ago I was, to my excitement, sent information about my host family. The Zimmermanns. Mr and Mrs Zimmermann, S, H and a dog named Winni. Schwerin, the Capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will be my place of residence. I have already contacted my host sister. She is very nice.
