Da in Deutschland bin ich...

School.
My worst nightmare. well, not really it's sometimes cool but I am mostly very tired to enjoy it.
Yesterday I gave my very short presentation about Egypt. I had stayed awake for a long time the night before and still was able to speak only about the History and the Language. I certainly couldn't work earlier, I was in Mallorca. ;) My presentation took about less than 15-20 minutes. I had to speak a little "Egyptian Arabic" as requested and in the end I gave each of my classmates Papyrus, what the Ancient Egyptians used as a writing material. A partial success.

I have been here for more than two months.

Changes:
- My German is getting better day by day.
- Less affected by the cultural shock. Despite that I am still "shocked".
- Went to another country. Spain.
- Realized it's not easy to make decisions alone. (which is good)
- I can't notice all the changes. Let this be my homeland people's job.

 And a new life begins..

Mallorca Or Das 17. Bundesland

The Mediterranean, blue sky and sun shine.. We are in Mallorca! narrow old streets plus Spanish. What could be better than a holiday in Spain?

We spent our autumn holiday -Herbstferien- in Mallorca, the German's favorite island. I was totally amazed. They're all Germans except a small number of  "Mallorcanians".
I found it very interesting because we used a map to find our way through the island. I never did this before. Those Germans are cool.

Being there did remind me somehow of home. It was different but also similar. They had those wooden style windows like in Alexandria but had a different, more open atmosphere.

Rostock

On Sunday we went to Rostock for our YFU Host Family meeting and for a quick breakfast with the uncle. There was about 10 exchange students that live in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with their host families. There, with all those people I don't know I felt like I am with my family. The exchange students were not as cool as the ones I've already met. Many of them couldn't speak good German. They were also a little bit 'not excited' or interested as I was. We had an AG with the YFU volunteers. We spoke about our current problems and made an  Austauschwettervorhersage. ;)
Rostock is relatively big and beautiful. It was a nice tiring day but definitely one of my best days till now.

Spending time with the family is my favorite part of the day. We're getting to know and appreciate each other. Still, me and my host sister are not friends.

It's magical the changes that happened in my German skills. It's all much better than my first day in Germany. I can relatively understand people now. :)

yummmm
